Today we got in our color groups and rotated around five different stations: futbol, frisbee, volleyball, break, and English. Two color groups are at a station each round and we rotated about every 40 minutes. Morgan and I were in charge of the English station (in the Kosovo Project office). We started with a whole group ice breaker. The students picked a piece of candy and answered a question based on the color of the candy. Then we had three stations where the students broke up into small groups to play Snatch to make words, journals about 5 different topics like fears/dreams/5 year goals/passions/hobbies, and to figure out mixed up proverbs. They had to rearrange the spaces and figure out the meaning of the saying. The students and our team seemed to enjoy it. They all seemed to have a really good day in all the sports too!
Snatch:
They turned over letters and tried to find words.

Journaling station:
The students got to write about fears, dreams, hobbies... In later round robin days we will expand on this and have them tell us why they answered as they did.
Mixed up Proverbs:
The sayings with incorrect spaces were lined around the room and they got to figure out what they said. At times, the Kosovars were better than the Americans at finding out what the saying was. Then they had to try to explain what it meant. These were amazing conversations!
Everyone had lots to say about the relationships they are building with their color groups and/or certain students. I'm still amazed at how hospitable the Kosovar people are! Luda said only 50% of the people are kind, but I'm still convinced everyone I've met has been nice. We did a whole group manuscript time in the office because we couldn't be at the hotel in the meeting room since there had been a wedding and graduation party (students going into high school-10th grade. The graduation party is still going on and it's after 12:30 in the morning!
