We all woke up to a knock at our door this morning at about 5:30 and then piled onto a bus. We got on the road about 6. To save time, we ate breakfast on the road and headed towards Albania to go to Durres where we would get to swim in the Adriatic Sea. This drive used to be a 12 hour one all through the mountains, but now it's about 2 1/2 hours. It actually took us a little over 3 to get there, and we stopped once in addition to the security check at the border. Many people slept on the way there even though Berat asked us to try to stay awake because of the beautiful sights. I took some Dramamine and couldn't keep my eyes open. Finally, Jeremy told me just to go to sleep, so I did! Other people talked with their seat mate or watched the movie that was on.
Once we were there, we staked out some chairs. Some of the team went straight to get in the water. It was some of the most salty water ever though. I opted to lather on the sun screen, not wanting to get burned, and then stayed in the shade for a while. Through the day we were all in and out of the water and chairs. We broke up and ate lunch either on the beach or in the restaurants on the beach. My group ate at the restaurant. We all got some seafood fruit, which was pretty much a variety of seafood in either rice or noodles. It was good. There were games of frisbee and Marco Polo in the water and people looked at us like we were strange because we were yelling "Marco" "Polo". "Po and Yo" are the words yes and no, so we wondered if people thought were were saying that over and over. While at the beach, some students spotted a guy walking a bear and of course took some pictures. A few people rented paddle boats with slides on them and enjoyed going out a little bit further. My paddle boat crew was Berat, Morgan, Evan, and Parker. Berat cracked us up and tried to flip us over a few times. We almost made it to Greece and Italy as we paddled. He said we were 60 km away from Italy! We may have gone 0.9 km. We were close though, that's what matters right? It's just like our hiking day and how close we were to Macedonia.

It took us about 4 or so to get home because of traffic, a stop, and to cross the border. I got to sit with Hannah on the way back and enjoyed our fun conversations. We didn't get home until about 9 and we were all exhausted after a day in the sun. The whole back half of the bus slept and Jeremy captured the sleeping ones. Some woke up as he took the pictures which was even better! I moved to sit with Jeremy a little bit so we could prepare for the manuscript for the evening.
Most people got a little snack at the store when we stopped because we were so hungry. We even tried some of this really bitter lemonade. It was tart! Look at these faces!
The waking up faces...
The fake sleeping.

| Valdeta and Hannah- We had some good convos about traditional weddings on this ride. |
Once we finally got back, we got to eat and do our manuscript study. We started a new book too and Paul is definitely a lot less frustrated! The newbies joined our groups and didn't really say much. The 2 of the 3 new adults joined my group too. We've really had some good conversations come out of the studies.
