The day started early yet again. Our running group added a few members today and we had a quite a joyous time! Our schedule for the past few days has been breakfast at 9, so our runs begin around 7:30. After breakfast we had a little Grace/Suhareke service. Jared and Sam played/sang and Evan spoke. The leaders (Berat, Valdete, Evan, Morgan, Jeremy, and I) had to meet about what we are doing for camp over the next few weeks, so we went away for lunch and let the students go out on their own. We gave them my phone so they could call if they needed us. The restaurant was called Solid. It was at a nice hotel that was built around a mountain. The rooms had exposed rock as part of the walls. The patio had a view of a pool, swimming hole, and waterfall that all drains from the mountain. It was beautiful! Berat order is this meal where we were given a hot stone and meat and we got to cook our meat. I was delicious!!!!
Training filled up the rest of our afternoon. We talked about camp, watched some videos, and did lots of discussing things to say/not to say. Surprises are quite frequent around here and our kids have learned to be flexible. Today we got a visit from the mayor of Suhareke. He is more like the governor though because there are 90,000 people in the city and the 44 villages connected to the city. He thanked us for coming to the city. We got to ask him questions but we felt very honored because he doesn't go out to meet every visitor. He wanted to meet us because he heard of our influence the past few years. His son is coming to the camp this year.
We went to Edona for dinner and had pizza. We've already had pizza twice since we have been here. We will be eating a lot of the same things multiple times though. I wasn't satisfied that all the other people had ice cream at least once during the day and I didn't so you know what that means?! We got a group together and went to Oxxo. The time was hilarious. Aryn walked across the street like we are supposed to in order for cars to stop. A bus was coming and had his blinker on so we thought he was turning but we were wrong. The truck stopped and we walked across but we pulled Aryn back just in case. We laughed about all kinds of things from me being clumsy and all kinds of things. We had good manuscript time for us (Foresters and McBryars) as well as with the students.
