Day 17: Family Day/hang out day/trip to Prizren with the ladies

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Saturdays are usually open so we can spend time with the campers. Many of the students did this today. Some went to villages while others hung out in Suhareke for coffee or ice cream. Others helped the girls who are staying here 5 months get settled into the apartment or started packing up their stuff. Overall it was a lazy day for most people.

The inevitable has come to us all. It's starting to hit us that we are going home. People have mixed feelings about leaving. Although they are excited about the food, their bed, telling people their stories, not waking up to the sun at 4:30/5 am, and seeing family/friends, they are sad about leaving their new Kosovar friends. Some have even made the comments about somehow losing their passports.

Lori, Meg, Sharon, Morgan, Valdete, and I went to Prizren to go up to the old castle/ruins and to shop. We had a nice time.

We hiked up to the top of hill to see the castle again.

lovely ladies

The early part of the evening was relaxing before we did manuscript. We usually have a party in our room. The daughters, sons, and Morgan or "mother in law"rotate in and out.

We started a new book tonight. The hotel restaurant made us pancakes too! Although they didn't taste like home, they were good to eat since I didn't eat dinner.
