The day started like the past few mornings. I had a few de-ja-vu moments. I got up and got dressed as normal. I went out in the hall to meet our running group and we realized it was raining. We decided against running and went back to bed. Jeremy woke up later and saw that I was in my clothes again and wondered why I was dressed.
Suhareke has a market every Tuesday. People from the villages come set up tables and sell their things. You can haggle and get pretty good prices on the items. At the market you would see things from clothing/accessories to household items to chickens and vegetables. Some of the students bought jerseys, sunglasses, and necklaces. Even though people wanted to get a chicken, Evan persuaded them not to get one. About five chickens were tied together with a zip tie looking thing and were held upside down by their feet for the new owner to carry home. They would be as still as they could be because when they are together so closely, they don't fight. Some of our group thought they were dead because they were so still.

After leaving the market, a few of us went to a souvenir store right beside our hotel. Some of the girls bought jewelry and flags and the guy gave everyone a keychain. The language barrier is tough. We couldn't understand what he was saying about the keychains. We were trying to pay for him and he was trying to tell us he didn't need so much money. Oh, it's hard when we don't speak the same language. We've had to do a lot of pointing lately. Valdete then took us to a 1 euro store. A few of us got excited to see how it compared to our Dollar Store. I've found that most of their stores are very limited in their merchandise so far, especially the food stores. When you just want some Cherrios, peanut butter, or skittles/M&Ms you realize you are in a different country that's never heard of those things.
We went with the Foresters and Berat, Valdete, and Valdete's friend to lunch at a gas station down the road. Jeremy said it was the nicest gas station he'd ever seen. It had marble countertops. The food was delicious. I needed my ice cream fix in the afternoon though, so I went with Sami, Jared, and Adam to Oxxo. Most of the team was there at different parts of our visit there. One of the Kosovars asked if I was Albanian. hm...
On the way back from Oxxo, Adam wanted to get some footage of the memorials around the city. I decided to take some pictures of the huge roses and one monument while I was waiting.

We all ate dinner at Edona and had our cheese pizza and/or mushroom and salami pizza. Jeremy and I sat with Kyle and Valdete. Jeremy talked to Kyle about all sorts of things the entire time. They are so much alike in their interests. While they were talking, I got to talk to Valdete about her life. I've loved getting to know her over the past week.
After our yummy dinner, we had our manuscript study.
