August is all about some celebrating. It's birthday time around our house...
Happy birthday Miriam, Micah, Tami, and Me!
Jeremy's aunt Tami's b-day is the day after mine and Micah's is the day before mine. In addition, my roomie from college, Amy, got married on Miriam's b-day so that was another celebration. I guess I could also celebrate a new school year too!

Amy's wedding was on August 1st. I went up on Friday after school for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Jenna and I were a little late, but no worries. We had lots of fun. It was so neat how 4 of the 5 bridesmaids were all from Gwinnett, all went to GCSU where we met Amy, and 3 of those 4 were all Amy's roomies at one time. We had a little sleep over at Amy's parents house and got up pretty early Saturday morning to get our hair done. Everything went pretty smoothly and Amy was a beautiful bride! It was good to see some other friends from college at the wedding and we even got to spend some time with them at Chili's afterwards.
We celebrated Miriam's birthday Sunday, August 2nd with the family. Micah wanted to blow out her iPhone candle...

We celebrated Micah's 3 year old birthday party on Saturday the 8th. I left my camera at home and Jeremy (he was at home-not feeling well) brought it to me after all the presents had been opened/cake was cut. Oh well. It was a fun Thomas the train party. Martha even got to have her first try with a pinata. Cary told her to pull a certain string, or I'm convinced she would have pulled the winning one!
Jeremy said we are celebrating mine a whole week. I'm okay with that. I just wonder what each day will bring.
Day 1: August 12th- my actual birthday.... When I got in my car to go to school, I had a banana nut muffin (Jeremy's mom and Jeff), stationary with the letter L on it (Jeremy's bro), and some cards (Jeremy's family) on my seat. How fun! Then I got to school and got some little teacher-y gifts from a lady I work with. At planning they had a cake (in the picture), cookies, and drinks for me/us. I also got sung too by Jana and my 2nd period class, lots of cards/hugs/happy birthday's/emails at school. When I got home Jeremy came home with roses and took me to MiMi's Cafe. Yum. MiMi's isn't a grandmother... it's a restaurant by the mall :)
Day 2: August 13th- A student gave me a drawing of tigger and had a little message around it, the ITS men came and fixed my computer/Activboard, and Jeremy brought home some PF Changs. YUMMMY!!!!
Day 3: August 14th- It was a normal day at school, and Jeremy, my mom, my dad, and I got to go celebrate at Chili's for my b-day! (Sidenote: I love their 3 for $20 deal right now! I've enjoyed it um... 5 times in two weeks!) Little did I know Jeff and Cindy were coming along too! I was going to go to family swim after school but my mom said we weren't having it b/c we were going to go eat at Chili's. Well, after we ate we went back to swim and all my family was at the 'rent house waiting for us, for my surprise party. Daphne and the kiddos, Miriam and Micah, and Martha and Hannah were there. We joined the party. Although we were stuffed, we still managed to fill in any gaps with Daph's cookie cake! I got some money, some board games, some colored copy paper, shin guards, PF Changs giftgard, iTunes giftcard, and some burt's bees. Thanks guys!
Day 4: August 15th- Saturday's are better days to celebrate. Jeremy took me shopping at the mall. We got some clothes from Old Navy and Gap. Then we got some books with some giftcards we had (Walden/Borders and Barnes and Noble). We spent pretty much the whole afternoon there. Then Jeremy kept throwing me off about what we were doing next. He said we were going to fix Miriam's computer but then he said he wanted to go to Athens. Well I didn't have a clue what we were doing. On our way to Athens, I thought of who we could be going to see. We ended up parking in a shopping center, and I was like hmm... (Larry's Subs? or the movie?!) Then I looked across the parking lot and I saw Jana, my friend from school. I got pretty excited. We got to eat dinner at Your Pie, see her new house, and then enjoy some ice cream at Marble Slab! What a great day!
Day 5: August 16th- I got to pick out what we had for Sunday lunch. I chose firehouse chicken. It's one of my favorites. Momma made fried okra too. Yummy!
Day 6: August 17th- Normal day at school... Nothing too special happened, just a simple happy 6th day.
Day 7: August 18th- It's the last day to celebrate my b-day this year. I went out to my car after school and I had a pink rose and a card on my windshield! How fun. Then we celebrated Aiden's 1/2 birthday... more on that in the next post. I also got some self-adhesive sleeves to go in the back of my classroom library books.
