It all started Friday afternoon. I got out of school and went over to the Fruitticher's house. Jeremy came over a little bit later. For the evening we got to hang out with baby Jake. Well, he's not too much of a baby any more. He's about 9 months old now. He's such a happy baby. We had lots of fun playing. He was worn out by the time it was 8. He had a hard time finishing up his bottle because he was so ready to sleep.
Last weekend I got a little sick at that conference. I blame it on being cold during the night. Well, last Sunday I didn't feel too well and Jeremy said I had a fever. I hid under a blanket most of the day. I took some medicine before I went to sleep a few nights because I was a little stuffy, but that was it. Right now Jeremy's pretty sick. He blames his sickness on me. It's funny b/c when he gets sick, he gets sick. He coughs and you can't miss the loud noise. He blows his nose and it honks. I didn't have anything like what he has, but I'll still take the blame I guess! I'm so immune to so many germs because I'm around them all day five days a week. Therefore, I rarely get sick, but when I do I continue on with my daily activities like I was well. Jeremy said that's why it takes me so long to get over being sick (when I'm sick) because I keep going. He stops everything and tries to get well. Hopefully he will be well soon.
Saturday was filled with seeing many friends! In one day I saw 3 of my six bridesmaids. That's a rarity.
Saturday, Emily and Brandon came over. Brandon is thinking about hunting in our woods, so they came over to check it out. He and Jeremy went looking around in the woods for deer signs. Brandon got really excited to see piles of deer poop. While they did that, Emily and I got to hang out. We had fun catching up and talking about life. Then they came back and Jeremy hung out with us while Brandon put out some corn for the deer. It was a fun afternoon of hanging out with Emily and getting to smile about how sweaty Brandon was after his trip in the woods. Maverick enjoyed following them, but came back wet and worn out! We've been worried about Mav hanging out at the swamp behind the house, but Jeremy said Maverick he didn't think Maverick had been back there. I bet he's going to the creek instead and that's why I see him wet sometimes. This year we put his pool under the side porch so it might stay cooler. Man- what a great life he has!
Saturday evening we went to an engagement dinner for Magan Cape and Matt Hamilton. It's funny because in high school I wouldn't have ever pictured them together. We were a little nervous about going, but Jeremy told me to call Lauren so ease our nerves. Lauren came over to our house and rode with us to the dinner. The house we went to was AMAZING. Jeremy kept disappearing, but then he'd come back with an interesting fact. Jeremy got to talk with the owners quite a bit, each time he disappeared, and found some really interesting things out about the house. We had fun and it was good to see a ton of people I grew up with. There were people there I had gone out with in elementary school or liked in middle and high school, so there were people from my elementary years all the way up. We'd talk about old memories and laugh about our growing up years in Dacula. Whether we just were in classes together, played b-ball together or whatever the memory was we had fun talking. (Payge Knutson, Thomas Boyce, Mary Williams, Nick Carlson, Matt Culberson, Katie Biel, Claire Hudlow, Brian Fiddler, Lauren Spotts...) It was fun to see Magan's parent's too. I haven't seen them in quite a while, so I enjoyed talking with them. Not to mention, Magan's brothers were there. WOW... I first met them when they were in elementary school. The youngest was about 6 or 7. He's now old enough to drive. So he's now the age I was when I met Magan. It was weird! They are all grown up.
Sunday always is fun. We eat Sunday lunch with my family- probably my favorite memory from many weeks. I love hanging out with my family. We stay so busy, I'm glad we take a break and eat together on Sunday's. Tonight we aren't getting to go to church because we have a cookout at the Augst's house. They are an incredible family. They moved from Hebron and went to The Church at Mill Creek with us. I don't really remember them from Hebron, but it was really fun getting to know them at Mill Creek. Gary, the father, drove us down to Savannah after our wedding. He has come to SuperWOW many years to cook us a meal on the weekends. Now Miriam and Daddy have even gotten to know him because they have done an event at his school. Taylor, their daughter, is leaving tomorrow to go to Germany to be a nanny for a year or so. What a fun experience. She has had to learn German though! Hopefully lots of the Mill Creek people will be there tonight. We try to get together about every 6 months anyway!
Weekly update- The week was good. We got hm... 4 or 5 new students. Sigh. We are SO full. I wish they hadn't passed the law saying there could be 30+kids in a room. It's way too many. I have 29 students in every class now. I don't feel like I can do my job to the best of my ability with that many students. Hopefully I will find a way this year because I need to be able to work one on one with so many of them!
