As I think...

As I start to write, I don't know what I want to write. I know I want to write, but I don't know what will come out. Please bear with me.

Hot/Cold: I have LOVED the weather the past few days/weekend (before today). It has been so nice. For one- I can't stand cold weather. My fingers and toes turn white and go numb when it gets too cold. Yeah, it's a scary thing, but I can't really do much about it except to wear lots of layers. Another reason I like this weather (if that didn't convince you already) is because I enjoy wearing capri's and skirts to school. Even though that may not be a good reason--- I kind of relate it to how I love to wear flip-flops not shoes. I don't really like pants... Most of the time I am cold though, no matter where I am or what the temperature is. I am just like my mom! She always wears a jacket even when it's warm outside. We've learned to take a jacket anywhere because we know we will probably be cold. To church, to school, to restaurants.... The "weather" in my classroom isn't that great though. Last year I got it set to the right temperature and every day it was great! However, this year it is either too warm or too cold. Yes, sometimes when I am comfortable, my students complain about it being hot. They take in too much air and make the room warm, especially after recess. Then they bring a smell inside with them and stink up my room. I can't have it stinking! Sigh.... That's why I love my sixth graders!

Park: Sunday, my family went to the park to go bike riding. I have been wanting to go ride for a while now. I always get in a bike-mood when I go up to New York, and then I don't get to ride much when I'm down here. Well, we pumped up the bikes and took a short drive to the park. I was getting Momma's bike out of Daddy's truck and I noticed the tire was split and all the air leaked out. So much for the air we just put in it! I don't know how I didn't notice it when I put the bike in. I let Momma have my bike and I said I'd run the trail. Little did I know we'd be going through the woods to the waterfall during our journey. I'm used to running on the PAVED trail not the dirt-root-filled trail! I had so much fun though and today I'm feeling it. I am sad I couldn't run too much because I am so out of shape, but I tried! Christian, my nephew, rode his bike across the creek/river at a wide part. The bike came right out from under him.He landed right in the water. BURRRRR. It was probably pretty cold. I had to rewind to my high school days and long jump over the water. It was quite an adventure at the park.... But of course I am still feeling the aftermath of the run because I'm so out of shape. I really do need to get into shape so I will fit into these bridesmaid dresses!

Dreams: Jeremy and I have been having some strange dreams lately. Here's the most recent one I had last night...Imagine this... There are hundreds of people in some church like/school like building. People are all in different areas being taught and then there is a shout above the rest, "THERE IS A GUNMAN IN THE GYM!" Everyone started running to this HUGE room (kinda like a sanctuary/auditorium). We all sat there on pews and there were two men with these HUGE guns. When the men shot the guns, out came a ton of these little blue swirly/lightning things. They flew around and would hit the people that were scared. I remember my grandfather sitting on the row with us and I constantly made sure he was okay. Well at one time something happened and everyone started running at once towards the windows and glass doors. They jumped through. Somehow I escaped and went up to the catwalk area then to a secret technical/sound room at the top of the building. There were other people in there and they didn't know what to think about me coming up there. While there, we discovered that this foam board and stretchy material could be used to build a hiding area for us. No one could break the stretchy material. Once we started making our hiding place, a person came through the door and told us the gunmen left. We didn't know whether or not to believe the person so we stayed there... Then I woke up. STRANGE DREAM!!! I thought others would like to hear. I hope it never happens.

Gas: Who would have thought that gas would be the determining factor of deciding what to do for an evening or a weekend? Last Friday, Jeremy and I (along with Jeremy's mom and Jeff) were going to go to the Georgia Aquarium for a free educators night. I was REALLY excited about it because the aquarium isn't cheap. Jeremy and I bailed out though because we were both low on gas and were afraid we wouldn't be able to find any gas if we went. Then on Saturday, we had a wedding to go to. We debated for about 45 minutes about whether or not we should go. We planned it all out because we wanted to make sure we had gas for the work week. On the way to the wedding we got gas in my car. On the way back that gas station was out so we went all through Dacula and the QT had some. Once we got back home, Jeremy then drove back to the QT and got gas in his car. It was an ordeal. It's crazy to think twice about original plans because of gas, but it's becoming a weekly occurrence. Momma said they might even try to make a 4 day school week (go longer each day), so we don't use so much gas. Who knows?! I have fall break in a few weeks and we were going to go to Charleston because I've never been and we thought it would be fun. Now, I'm thinking that might be canceled though because of the shortage. I guess I'll be sitting home all week!
