Letters from My Kids

The last day of school hasn't ever been a sad one. I've always been ready to be out. This year was a little harder. I really liked this group of kids. After the final, I asked the kids to write about things they liked and disliked about math this year as well as something for me to change for next year. I got some sweet letters from them from the assignment and some sweet end of the year cards, so I wanted to share. Please don't hate me because of their grammar errors. I am rewriting them so you get the feel for my sweet kiddos. Here are a few of my favorite letters/cards:

I have had the Best year with you whin I was going through every thing with my family you were there for me and being nice to me so thank you

Dear Mrs McBryar,

You have been the greadest 6th grade teacher during the whole year. I have been thinking about being a math teacher just like you. You are like my role model to me. :) When ever I need help you always help me. You make learning math so fun and interesting. I love when we do fun projects and fun activities. Thanks for being a great teacher.

(the letter below is the same person who wrote the one above, but she gave me this letter in December)

Dear McBryar,

I feel happy today, now because you are here, not only because you teach math because your a fun, exciting, funny person. Thank you for teaching me and spending time with us to teach math.

I really had fun in your class every thing we did was perfect I like all the stuff we learn.... To me it all perfect no need to change for next cause what ever you and the other teacher teach is perfect just the way it is. I don't hate anything you do cause you taught me well I always be glad you taught me for 6th grade. All I'm saying is your teaching is perfect the way it is and there no need to change at all.

I had the best time EVER this year. I can't believe all I've learned! Your class may have been the most challenging of any class I've had since third grade, but you made it the funnest. Even though my grade has more ups and downs than an elevator, it is (hopefully) still above an eighty. [haha- she needs above an 80 to stay in gifted math] That has been one of my goals since day one. And when I come back to school in three months, (pleased to say I'm not leaving :)) I will never forget the awesomest (and prettiest) math teacher like, EVER! And, this is off topic, but I hope you get my best friend next year. Back to math. I hope you teach the next 6th graders as well as you taught me (no doubt). [a female wrote this]

This year was so fun! We played games, and we really appreciate all the things youe done for us. You've helped us in ways that one one else can. Its all gone by so fast though, and we're almost 7th graders! All of us will remember you forever for being this best math teacher in the world. The only bad this this year has been having to leave 6th grade. With upcoming 5th graders my advice is stay cool Mrs. McBryar. :) HAHA [a boy wrote this!]
