Race

My favorite verse for years has been Hebrews 12:1-2 "... let us run with endurance the race that is set before us fixing our eyes on Jesus..."

Well here's the update on the race I'm in currently. I just finished the first leg of the race because track is now finished.

Our season ended well. Our boys got 3rd in the league and our girls got 4th. I'm so proud of all their hard work. Here's some pictures of the meet we put on. Jeremy is putting together a highlight video of the day, I may put that up on here as soon as it gets finished.

The next leg of the race has been a little more relaxed than the past leg. A straight-away always seems easier than curves no matter who you are. In this leg, I have had a little more free time as you could see from the last post of the cookout. I've enjoyed coming home after school and going for a nice run. This past Friday, I ran my first 5K (for a race). Quite a few of my friends at school ran too. We decided we needed a before and after picture!

Jana, Maleigh, Brooke, me, and Megan are smiling and ready to run.
A little while later, we stand together again red-faced and sweaty. This time Jessica, who just had a baby 3 weeks ago, and Lucy joined our picture. I finished with a time of 28.26. Jana got 26 something and Brooke was about 15 seconds behind her. In our age group, they took 3rd and 4th and I took 5th. Jana even got a trophy. A lady, that was the overall winner was in our age group or we could have taken 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I had lots of fun and can't wait until the one in May!
The next morning, I got all dressed up and ready for Kim's bridal shower at the Georgia Club. She's the one in the red dress. This is a picture of some of our Bible study girls that attended the shower. (Jolynn, Brooke, Kim, Amber, me, and Mandy).
Our side of the table- I love these girls!

Although Amber and I have taught together the past few years, we are just now starting to get to know each other more. She's the FCS teacher and we share way too many things in common. Her and her husband live extra close to us too. Maverick and her dog, Fiona, are going to be best friends by the end of the summer because we have planned some play dates/ running dates at the park! YAHOO... let's hope Maverick doesn't try to sprint and outrun me though. He did this to me the other day in the neighborhood and I sprinted all the way to the front of the neighborhood and back before he slowed down.

The third leg has been CRCT prep at school. The kiddos just finished the last test today! I almost hit a wall during this leg with everyone else at school. The pressure seems to be unbearable at times, but we've all pushed through and made it to the last leg, which is currently running it's course.

The countdown is on... 4 days until spring break!!! We are heading to Charleston with Jana and Robert this weekend. Who knows what else the break will bring. We can see the finish line. It's so close!
