Okay, so I'm writing a paper for my gifted course. It's supposed to be 4-6 pages, SINGLE-SPACED. That's one rant. I mean really, single spaced?! That's really 8-12 pages double spaced. It's on someone we think is gifted. We have to do a little research on someone and write a paper all on that little topic. Sigh...
Well, all week at the beach I worked on it. I kept having to take breaks because it's a little overwhelming. Here's where my other rant comes in.
1 page- Introduction (I've never written this much for an introduction)
3 pages- evidence of how the person is gifted (I know I'm a little over the top when I write, but I've never written this much about a person I don't really even know!- that's really 6 pages)
1 page- whether or not the person would be considered gifted in Georgia (okay, more like it... still a bit much)
Okay, I know I'm a math teacher and everything, but 1 page + 3 pages + 1 page = 5 pages. How in the world can I even get 4 pages. Yes, I know I could not write the page length it is supposed to be, but then I am graded on meeting the page lengths. It's a no win situation. You can't do the 4 page paper because then you'd get points taken off. Sighhhhhhh.....
I feel like I'm in grad school again! The benefit is, I "hopefully" get to teach gifted students with the certification and I get my school some extra money even though I have to pay for all the classes ($1000). Sigh.... When I finish this, does anyone want to proof it?! :)
