I've been waiting on some pictures so I could actually blog about our housewarming party we had in December. Miriam was so kind in sharing some of her pictures so now here they are!
Having a housewarming party required us to get our house ready in 25 days (3 1/2 weeks). I'm a tad bit OCD when it comes to things being organized so we were out of boxes in about 1 or 2 days. Like I said in another post, I'd empty boxes as fast as they could bring them to me. I wanted things to be settled as quickly as possible too because I wanted to start feeling at home and not cooped up. Jeremy still feels like it's someone else's home. It feels like home to me though now that our stuff is here. I like to hang out here and am okay just lying around, unlike at the cottage. I always wanted to be doing things there, but here I can just rest and I love it! I haven't been "bored" here yet and I hope it stays like that.
We opened up the house to who ever wanted to come. We told family and friends and we had a pretty good turn out. At one time, we had a full house. Miriam said, "the fire marshall would say there were too many people in the house!" We took people on tours while others took themselves around and made themselves at home. We had a spread of food and people enjoyed each others company. Different groups of people clumped together around the house. The kids were in one of the bedrooms, my school friends were in the kitchen, the superwow/GBC/high school people were in the living room, and the family sat around the table. It was so fun to see so many of our friends and family!
