Kelli and I loved these hats. We thought it might be fun to wear them at rec.

Scott and Jeremy have the tendency to match or have color coordinating outfits the past few weeks. They have matched probably 4 or 5 times! Here was one time they looked Eastery.

Holla- Mac, Jeremy, and Marsha are loving the shade of the tent while controlling the "hood" music.

Lindsey is Brock's merch girl. She is also called the "fireproof woman" because she eats fire! It was really neat to watch.

This guy was my FAVORITE. His name is Pedro. He is deaf. He can't hear, speak, doesn't know sign language, and doesn't know how to read or write. His parents don't know how to communicate. He doesn't go to school b/c his parents don't think they can do anything with him, so he wanders the streets of Brunswick all day long. Brock connected with him though. He did some card tricks and Pedro smiled a genuine "I'm happy" smile. He tries to communicate but doesn't know what to do other than gestures, but they are minimal. Hopefully we can get him hooked up with someone who can teach him and his parents sign language.

Look at M'sha's BIG guns!

These kids were talking about going to Universal. Marsha said she'd never been. The boy said if she could fit in a big suitcase he'd take her along... then he said she'd better start stretching!

My bling bling/batman fireman. He was a cutie all day long and just as cute when he tried on the fireman jacket

Yes, we got our pictures with the firemen. The one in front of me told me I could put my hand around him if I needed to. ;)

Having fun at the block party. (Erica and Cassi)

Friday morning... The guy in the red (a student dressed as matt papa- curly red wig & red beard). The real Matt Papa is on the keys. It was great!

It was a crazy week. We had about 1100 students and adults with us this week. We had Landon Dowden as our speaker. His youth group from Louisiana came too. Lots of people= lots of questions=lots of little problems. Everything went fairly smoothly though and overall it was a good week.
Friday afternoons we are no fun to be around! A church invited us to a low country boil. We're really sociable aren't we?! (Well I really couldn't be sociable because I lost my voice)

Jeremy and Jeremy--- well with Camron peaking through...

Highlights:
1. Monday registration- I was getting ready and in walked my 5th grade teacher- Mr. Mullins. He came with a youth group. The next time I looked up it was 2:00 and there was a LONG line by the registration booth ready to get their information.
2. Wednesday night- I got to eat some yummy breakfast food for dinner. Then a few hours later I got on camera during Landon's teaching. I had a voice at this point. Jeremy was on camera too. We didn't talk much. Jeremy kept coughing into the mic and it was loud in my ear. Someone sitting near the camera stand gave Jeremy a piece of gum. He ended up having to get off of the camera and Scott replaced him because he couldn't stop coughing. I got off camera and I didn't have a voice. It was the strangest thing.
3. Thursday afternoon- we had a block party in one of the rough parts of Brunswick. Some groups passed out flyers during the days before the party. The party was a success. We had free food for the neighborhood people, played basketball, had a fire truck come, Brock and Lindsey put on a show, and we got to love on the people.
4. Thursday night- we had the parents of one of our staff members cook for us. It was DELICIOUS! Then a group asked for us to do a devotion at their house. The youth minister said he didn't want me, but he wanted someone. He laughed because I couldn't really talk, so there was no way I could talk to his group! I went anyway but only said like one sentence.
5. Friday morning- I wrote on a whiteboard to communicate. Kelli was my interpreter when I tried to speak/communicate with gestures.
6. Friday afternoon/night- We went to a church group's house for lunch and 4th of May for dinner. I couldn't talk but we had the best time at the house, restaurant, and at the pier. I got picked on or asked to speak up multiple times.
