Sorry it's been a busy week. You will be able to tell by the pictures- even though the pictures are mostly from Friday on. Week 1 we had Ed Newton as the speaker. All summer we have Matt Papa and his band as well as Brock Gill the Illusionist. We had 34 churches come and about 670 students. Some of my FAVORITE churches came. I didn't have any crazy questions at the booth and I didn't have any run-ins with the convention staff that made me cry like last year. The Jekyll Island Convention Center staff has really changed shape over the past year. They are SOOOOOOOO sweet and will do anything for us. WOW! All around it was a really good week. Here are some pictures.
Ed on the megaphone behind Jordan Shababy on the keyboard. I'm convinced there is a Shababy at every GBC event!

In the sound/lighting booth. Mac is doing who knows what- maybe in charge of something. Camron is doing the lights. Shannon is program coordinator.

Okay, so this is Jason and he thought it would be funny to drink the dirty water from the fish bowl. GROSS! Jeremy first got to know Jason when he traveled with Planet Wisdom doing disciple nows all over the country.

The convention center is so cold, I usually end up putting a shirt or a jacket on my legs. It reminds me of a onesie. Oh... you just have to see our t-shirt/hoodie commercial. We made fun of Snuggies and I have on two sweatshirts backwards. One is on my legs!

This is Magna and Carta, our camp mascots. I've really grown attached to them. Magna is the one with orange and white. Mac used them for an illustration about limited and unlimited freedom. He ended up letting Magna out of the bowl for 45 seconds. Magna flopped around and fell off the stool but was okay.

Jeremy and Travis helped change the water. That night Carta died, so we had to get another Carta... C2. I came in to the travesty. It made me want to cry.

Cassi's face cracks me up.... Shannon (one on the right) was on staff with us last year. She came week one to help us and Brock. It was so fun to have her around, but we will miss her next week.

I have loved being on a staff with Kelli- this will make 4 years of staff together. She was at Ft. Walton before I was on staff and she had to take summer classes my first year on staff. Although she lives in Florida, we catch up pretty quickly!

The yearly foot shot on the boardwalk at the Rah Bar.

The best seafood in Jekyll! The shrimp are so good and caught right off the dock. This was a newfound restaurant a few summers ago and we have fallen in love with it.

Um... I don't know what they are doing. (Erica, Marsha, Megan, and Cassi)

The video/lighting guys + Marsha and me! (Jeremy, Boyd video 2 with Jeremy last year), Travis or T-rav (video 2 with Jeremy this year), and Camron (best lighting guy I know))

We ate at Willie's Wee-Nee Wagon for lunch today. Although it was a whole in the wall, it was delicious and should be one of those places everyone should visit! Read the sign.... It cracks us up!
Tonight it's Barbara Jeans. My FAVORITE!!!! They have amazing pumpkin bread!
