Today Jeremy and I went with Cindy and Jeff to a place called the Flying Biscuit. It is a YUMMY restaurant in Decatur. They serve breakfast all day long and are known for their great grits. Now if you have spent some time around me you would know one of my favorite breakfast items is grits, so I was so excited about this place. I am glad they served breakfast all day because our meal ended up being at 2:30 pm. Who knows what we were doing eating so late (I was starving at 10 am), but my hunger went away once I knew we were going there to eat, but it sure came back when we got there. I enjoyed an omelet, grits, and a biscuit with apple-cran butter. Now another one of my favorites is apple butter, so the apple-cran butter just suite my fancy! Jeremy enjoyed the exact same thing I ordered but with coke instead of water. Jeremy said, "It was quite the hipster place to be!" While waiting for our table out walked the counselor from my school and her boyfriend. It's crazy to see people I know outside the element in which I usually see them, but it was so good to see them! Our day was going to be built around going to Old Navy and to Kohl's to use my giftcards. Miriam called me this morning and told me about an incredible $12 jean sale at Old Navy. She suggested going early so they weren't picked over. On our way there, we talked to Jeremy's mom and our plans for the day changed. Needless to say our day was mostly spent driving and eating, but it was worth it. Jeremy says he rates Flying Biscuit an 8/10 (4/5) and I'd rate it an 8.5 or a 9. The only reason I marked it down was because my ice melted so fast I just had sloshy water most of the time!
We did get to go to Old Navy and Kohl's afterwards. Old Navy had maybe 4 or 5 pair of jeans left and hm... they were not my size of course. I did get some teaching clothes at Kohl's though so at least it wasn't a wasted trip. We had to make a stop by Publix on our way home and began to hear a ton of sirens. When we walked out of Publix a lady just started talking to us about all the sirens. We were like yeah I wonder what's going on. The lady was really interested and kept talking to us like she knew us. I loved every moment of it! However, the greatest part was sitting at dinner watching the police out the window guarding the road then running up and down the road. We tried to come up with a story of what happened. We also had men on the roof of the restaurant looking into the woods. It was pretty crazy... but hey "Gwinnett is great!"
Woops- Well the whole purpose of my blog tonight was supposed to be some pictures from the summer after I worked with them in Aperture (not a skin disease). I think I got off on a tangent though... I hope you enjoyed the pics.
