The month feels like it has come and gone so quickly. The month started with the teacher/student volleyball game and then Micah's graduation. He did such a good job with his part about South America.
Then we celebrated Mother's Day. We were supposed to go up to Banks County to the "Gathering Place" but it was a little rainy so we went to Daphne's instead.

School was a blur. The last few weeks were CRAZY! One week we had a band/chorus concert, faculty meeting, and honors night. That same week I went to a UGA Children's choir concert because one of my girls asked me to come see her. Their performance was EXCELLENT and much better than our school band or chorus concert! Our scores came back from the state and our school did well with all the tests. My students did well and it helped me relax a little. In addition to all the craziness at school, I went to the doctor because of some issues I was having in my stomach. I was told I was stressed! HA, from basketball to track and from preparing for the presentation at the national conference to state testing no wonder why I had some issues!
We ran our 5th race of the year and I got 1st in my age group. We also celebrated our 5 year anniversary. Jeremy went to the race with me that morning and then took me to Doc Greens for lunch and then to get a pedicure. Afterwards, he booked an hour massage with T. Later on that evening we went to a cute little restaurant Jana and Robert suggested called Big City Bread in Athens. It was delicious, but we couldn't pass up dessert at Bee's Knees. It was a relaxing day just like he wanted me to have.
Our weekends have been full as you can see with Mother's day, a race, an anniversary, hanging out with people, and even a football scrimmage for the 6th and 7th graders. Sunday's are full most weeks with meetings for Kosovo as we prepare for our three week trip. We are getting more and more excited about it.
The end of school was a sad one. I don't think I've ever cried on the last day of school but I got a little teary-eyed this year. I am going to miss my kiddos. Although some of them were tough to deal with in terms of behavior or academics, many of them were just sweet kids. I had my first apprentice this year and even some kids that loved to help me. One parent asked if I'd loop with the kids and have them next year.
Towards the end of the month, the coaches were asked to attend a meeting about getting our CDL. Just to think about it makes me laugh. I can only imagine the kids getting on the bus for a track meet or b-ball game and then I hop up in the seat to drive! I'll try to be short and sweet about it because it's a long drawn our 3+ week saga. Our AP told us we would have to go to some meeting about getting our CDL. We laughed because us girls are not the ones that you might find driving a bus. It didn't seem like a big deal so we didn't really worry about it. The meeting was a different story. They gave us a big packet to study, papers to fill out that were due in 2 days, and told us about the process. They wanted us to take the tests by the end of May, have hours and hours of training in June, drive 10 hours without kids on a bus in July, and drive bus routes in August. HA. Again we laughed. We went back to the school and told our AP. He told us to hold off so we did. We thought of other options. He told us again not to worry that he may only get a few of us to do it. We didn't turn in any of the paperwork and I pretty much decided I couldn't do it because we wouldn't be home this summer. On the first day of post-planning, our principal called me out of a meeting and into another meeting about getting our CDL. She said that we were going to have to go to a drug test that morning. We gave her all the other options we had thought about. She liked them. She didn't want us to have to go, but we decided to go and make them think we were being compliant. We finished up submitting our grades and headed to the transportation building. We took a number and headed into the building thinking it would be a quick and easy process. That's the biggest understatement of the month! Once we got in the building, the other coaches said they had been waiting over an hour. Jana and I left our phones in the car so we were going to go back and get them if we were going to be there that long, but those in charge wouldn't let us out. Ohhhhh, it only got worse. It was hot in the building and we waited and waited. Jana and I ended up getting some paper and played the game "dots" where you make squares. We even made some paper airplanes and flew them around the room. The other coaches laughed. We may have even flown them at Skaggs (the other PE coach and the guys football and track coach). Oh, did I forget to mention, I might have even flown one at the AP from the high school who was the parent of one of my students (the one who wanted me to loop with his child?!). He laughed about it. I mean we had to keep ourselves busy while we waited. I tried to leave the building again because I didn't have my ID, but they didn't let me. I think they hated me because they let someone else go. I teared up a little, I won't lie. We ended up waiting over 2 hours. I was hungry, hot, and ready to go to the bathroom. We were glad to finally be done, and it took us about 3 hours total. I felt like it was a waste of the day. Jana and Skaggs had to go to another Q&A session on Friday of post-planning and were told they were going to be the ones doing the testing. Although I'm happy I don't have to, I do feel bad that both of them will go through the rest of it.
School finally came to a close and we had three days of post planning (one of those being the day of the drug test). After the first day of post-planning, Jana and I went on a search for some running outfits for races and then went to dinner at PF Changs to celebrate my b-day from last year. She gave me a coupon book and said if I didn't use the coupons, our friendship would expire, so it's one of the last ones I needed to use! The next evening a bung of the girls from school went to paint. Here are some of those fun pictures. I am one of the least creative people, but I tried my best.

I guess Jana thought my face needed to be painted. Ninja! (That's what the instructor said if he wanted us to get quiet. We would stop talking and pose!) |

| Look who I found?! I don't think I have seen Ali since the SuperWOW I fainted! |
 |
| This is my work mom and sister. I don't know what I'd do without them to keep me on track and love me when I do something ridiculous. They call me out and support me no matter what! |

| Maleigh loves being done with school. |
 |
| The outline is done. |
 |
| The finished product. |
 |
| It took 3 hours and I wasn't finished. There are lots of things I still want to chance, but this will have to do. |
On the last day of post-planning, we had sneak-a-peek and got to meet the new 6th graders. In addition we had our faculty lunch. I was not in the mood to be really hyper with the kids because I stayed up late painting. I also didn't feel well so I was in a blah mood. After school, a group of us went to Aqua Linda to celebrate the end of another good year.
We get to celebrate Jeremy's birthday for a few days before leaving on our trip to Kosovo.
