Cape San Blas 2009

Jeremy and I went with his family to the Cape San Blas this past week. We had lots of fun. They started going on a family trip last summer so we could get to know Jeff's family a little more since we don't see them much. We got a house on the beach with a pool. The pool was a plus because Jeremy doesn't care much for the beach. He doesn't like sand, therefore he won't walk out on the beach unless he has shoes on. If you ever see him on the beach, it is a forced thing (like to take pictures). For his birthday he got some water shoes that he LOVES. He can wear them on the beach and he tolerates being out there for a little bit. It might surprise you that he doesn't go to the beach, but if you are a superwow staffer, you won't recall many memories of Jeremy out on the beach. He will come to film basketball, but he doesn't like to be out on the sand. In addition, he doesn't like to get burnt, so he pretty much is a house hermit. This year we had a pool and we got to swim THREE days together!!!! I was so excited. He loves to swim, but had to limit the outside time so he wouldn't burnt. I had to do the same because I burnt and get miserable. I have had so many stories of being burnt so bad I don't ever want to feel like that again. There were times I couldn't move and I felt like I was constantly going to throw up or I was freezing cold. I now don't care if I hide under a blanket outside, as long as I stay away from the pain. 

My favorite sunscreen is Ocean Potion, and I have fallen in love with a new after sun lotion- Ocean Potion Lotion. Thanks Marsha--- ya I did burn a little at SuperWOW and Marsha saved the day!

We swam and/or went to the beach each day. We were also lazy and slept late most days. At night we ate together, played games (The Game of Things-the best game ever- and Scattegories), watched some tv, chatted, and put together puzzles. One of my favorite lazy activities is to put together puzzles. Before I left we had put 2 1/2 together. I wanted to get the third one done, but we left a day a a half early. I needed to be home for a few days before school started. The weather was great and it was so good to hang out with the family for a while! Fun times were had all around.

We ate there last year, however this time there was a special of all you can eat shrimp, so we stuffed ourselves. Jonathan ended up having 6 baskets of shrimp. I couldn't even eat 1! How sad?!

The guys in the family. Matthew is about 7 months old now. He's the youngest of the family and had lots of fun at the beach this week.

The gals! Michaela (the one beside me) was my buddy. We had lots of fun putting puzzles together and playing in the pool. I'm glad we got to spend the week with them so we could get to know them better.... hm... I think the term for the relationship is step-aunt?!
