Fort Walton SuperWOW 2012

I'm still making the transition back into "life". After getting home from Kosovo (Tuesday night/Wednesday morning), Jeremy and I had 10+ loads of laundry to wash. Although some families wash this much on a normal basis, we only wash about 3 a week. We did wash things by had while we were in Kosovo, but pretty much everything we took had to be washed no matter what. Washing was a priority because pretty much everything stunk and because we wouldn't have had many clothes left. Getting our bodies readjusted to our time zone was another thing we tried to combat right off. I knew I would need to be on Eastern time because I was about to head into central time in less than 3 days. My body was all mixed up and I'd get tired about 6 every night but made myself stay awake. The days were full of seeing family and friends before I left again. When we got off the plane in DC we got a text from my mom saying that her retina detached and she couldn't see out of her right eye. Once we were back home and woke up the next day, we immediately went to see my family, especially to see how my mom was doing. Amber and I started our daily runs at the park again and got to have a date day with Jana. We even had every meal filled with eating with people. I had lunch with Amber and Maleigh, we had dinner with Amber and Beth as well as Jana and Robert during my short time home.  Saturday morning Jana, Robert and I also ran another 5k before I headed down to Florida.

This year I was in Fort Walton for Superwow, which was only a week. Brian ended up going home a few days into the week because Lauren is about to have a baby. I got to be in a condo with Cassi, Mary Beth, and Jennie. We had lots of fun. The staff was great and we all meshed really well. There were some older staff members which included some of our old Jekyll staffs which made it even better. Our staff was full of singers and people with great senses of humor. We laughed and sang constantly. The week started off with a tropical storm/hurricane warning, but it quickly passed and we ended up having wonderfully hot weather from Tuesday-Saturday. Brian put me and Cassi in charge of the greenroom. I haven't gotten to do the greenroom in a few years, so it took me a little while to get used to all the extra work and preparation but it was fun. I only ran camera once while I was there. I felt like I was going to pass out again and couldn't contact the director because the com wasn't working. Doug ended up telling me that I wasn't allowed to be on camera again. We had a small staff so me not being on camera hurt everyone else, but he didn't want to risk me fainting again.

Since we were only there a week, we didn't take too many pictures or have too many staff bonding experiences like in previous years, but it was still fun nonetheless.

Thursday night the end of the week video was already done, so we just enjoyed time together talking and laughing. Friday night, we went to Floyd's to eat dinner and then we went to Shakes for dessert. After we got back we decided to go to the beach since we really hadn't done that since we had been there. We were definitely a singing group and would break out in song at random times during the week. Our beach adventure turned into a concert. Some people on the beach even joined in with us.
