October's Here

The picture of the post! Pumpkin bread from Barbara Jeans! It's so yummy and it's just as good in June/July as it is in October!

I can't believe it's already October and now we are over a week into the month. Time has been flying by. I haven't had a chance to update, so this post will probably be pretty random.

Daphne had a birthday at the end of September and we had a "surprise" ice cream social for her and the family. There were so many toppings I think I had about all of them. Then we even enjoyed some DQ ice cream cake. I used to get there cakes when I was little. Yummy!
We finally got to celebrate Hannah's birthday. We moved her luau three different times. It was a blast. There was limbo, a really cool cake, party music, and even a pinata. Martha did a great job picking out the decorations, and yes we did wear grass skirts. It was the last swim of the season too. I'm a wimp and I didn't get in though. I can only handle the water when it's a certain temperature range and it was definitely too cold for me. I resorted to watching! I helped Daddy put the cover on the pool a few days later. Sad day!

Hannah got so excited about her DS game we got her. She had the coolest cake too!
Luau attire... Stacy decided to wear the skirt on his head...Even the three youngest of my nieces and nephews got to wear them.

This past week has been my fall break from school. I've stayed pretty busy though. Over the weekend before the actual fall break week, we went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (one of my favorite children's books). We also celebrated Hannah's birthday that weekend. Monday, I hung out at the house and cleaned up a little, went to the park with Daddy, and then Jeremy and I went to eat with some friends in Athens at a Thai restaurant (my first experience with Thai food). Tuesday, Jeremy and I both had dentist appointments. I got a fantastic report!! Miriam was really sick (strep) so I hung out with Micah after my appointment until that night. He is a busy boy. He wanted me to play with him all day and any time I'd try to leave him for a minute (to go to the bathroom), he would say, "Aunt Yaya, I neeeed you!" I assured him I'd be right back, but he insisted on waiting for me outside the bathroom- after a little coaxing. I got to go see Momma's new office that night and finally got to eat at Oriental Garden. Momma has always talked about it since it has been so close to her office for so many years, but I've never been. Momma, Daddy, Micah, and I all split a 2 person meal (and had leftovers)! Jeremy went to the U2 concert that night as well so he didn't get to join in all my fun. Wednesday I got to take Micah to school and then went to the eye doctor. It was fun to drop him off at my preschool. Jeremy, Cindy, and I went to dinner that night. Afterwards I got a massage (gift certificate- from Jeremy's mom last Christmas). It helped my lower back. Thursday we left for St. Simons. We stopped in Milledgeville for a while to see Jonathan's (Jeremy's bro) new place. It made me reminisce way too much while we were down there. We even tried to see my old edu. professors but they weren't in their offices. Sad day. That was weird being in the education building where I spent WAY TOO MUCH time in two years! I loved being in college and had some really good times. I do miss those days even if I do not miss all the work I had to do! We finally got down to St. Simons around 6:30. We enjoyed 4th of May for dinner and TCBY for dessert. I opted out of a dessert at 4th of May, but on our way back to our condo we saw a TCBY. When Jeremy and I first started dating, we spent much of our time on the weekends at the mall. There was a TCBY there and we fell in love with the parfaits, so we just had to stop and get one! Friday we went to Brunswick to grab lunch and do a little shopping for a wedding shower. Then we swam and laid out at the pool all afternoon. For dinner, we enjoyed some Barbara Jeans. It is another FAVORITE place down here. Their pumpkin bread is so yummy! Afterwards we took some pictures on the beach. I love it down here. It's warm and very laid back. People aren't in a rush and are extremely friendly. Saturday we had to head back home.

If you can't read the sign it says, "When your animal is allowed on the beach, if it leaves more than prints in the sand please pick it up!" Jeremy laughed at the sign and had to take a picture.
