Another Tuesday Claus is here. I can't believe it's already the third Tuesday Claus of the month. This December has been flying by. I decided to share a few pictures of some of the Tuesday Claus gifts. Last week Jeremy made me a big french toast breakfast, so this is what I got to enjoy. He really thought outside the cereal box didn't he?! He even had good presentation. This week I got Guitar Hero Aerosmith. I'm extremely excited! I also got a level and a little magnetic pointing stick that extends which will be fun when I'm teaching. I can be pointing at something on the board and then point it to get someone's pen if they are tapping it on their desk. I guess I never mentioned I also got a really nice jacket that definitely keeps me warm when it's cold. Tuesday Claus (both of them) is/are my favorite! Jeremy got the movie The Goonies and this cool little thing you put on your cokes so they don't go flat as quickly after they have been opened.
My first big Christmas gift I have gotten came on Sunday. My grandmother (mom's mom) passed away in August last year. My mom had five quilts made (one for me and my sisters, one for my oldest niece, and one for herself). We had the quilts all over the floor trying to pick which one we wanted. It was TOUGH because we all recognized squares on all of the quilts. I picked one with some of the shirts, dresses, and sheets I remembered Grandmother having. The center of the quilt I picked has a snowman. It came from one of her denim dresses I loved. When I see that, a flood of memories from Christmastime come over my mind. I think about all the traditions we have and about how much I have always looked forward to Christmas Eve at my grandparent's house. I will write about this later, but I just wanted to show you the picture of my beautiful quilt.
Today we had our staff Christmas party. 6th grade was in charge of bringing vegetable casseroles. Jeremy made a green bean casserole and brought it to the school so it could be warm. We had tons of food and I was stuffed afterwards. We also had to take 2 dozen cookies for a cookie swap. Tonight we had to make 60 cookies for Wonderful Wednesday (reward system at school for the kids). I am doing a cookie decorating room. Man, I am cookied out already! From our principal and AP, we got mugs with the HMMS logo on them. Our principal's goodbye words were "Now, hold them down for the next three days!" Wow! Yeah that's what I'm going to have to do!
