18-19 months

I wanted to write down a list of the words he knows because when people ask I seem to forget most of them. In the past few weeks, I feel like he has been saying a new word every day or so. It's crazy.

Make the sound for (a):
Dog (woof woof)
Cat (eow and ahhh in a high pitched screech)
Owl (hoo-hoo)
Duck (quack)
Cow (moo)
Kissing

He can touch/point body parts: eye, hair, mouth/teeth, toes, fingers, and sometimes belly/tummy.

He can touch/point to/get things: shoes, socks, diaper, shirt/shorts/clothes, fingernail clippers, ball, book, fork/spoon/cup of water, lots of different foods, animals, and toys. If I start singing the ABCs he will run to get his refrigerator school bus magnet that sings the alphabet.

He can follow commands: stomp, clap, throw, kick, wiggle, dance, drink, sit down, (one of his books say "thump my chest" and he can do that too)

He always stops when he hears a bird/dog/cat, bus, loud car/motorcycle, or airplane and says the name of it (other than the dog and cat because he makes the sound for them and instead of saying car or motorcycle-- he says "bus").

He loves imitating Maverick when he drinks his water and pants. It makes us laugh so hard. He even tells Maverick to "shhhhh" when he's being loud.

He will find a ball if there is one around. Whether it is under a bush or in a neighbor's yard, he will spot it before anyone else.

Those teeth. Oh I could write an entire article on teething now. He cut about 6 at the same time with a few weeks in between before two more came in. Needless to say, we had a few miserable days. We had our 18 month appointment a few weeks after he turned 18 months and he got some shots. At first I couldn't tell if he was just cranky because of the shots. He cried for hours and hours. He couldn't sleep because he was hurting. We put some orajel on them but then stopped after I read some about it numbing the entire throat. I know I got a little crazy and shouldn't have read anything but sometimes the internet gets the best of me. For a whole weekend I wanted to hide from everyone. Jeremy was busy with events and stuff so he wasn't around. By the end of the weekend I was exhausted from all the crying. Finally, the molars made their entrance along with the top canines. I was glad when things settled down but then the drooling started back so I knew more would be on their way shortly. His teeth take a long time to make their way all the way down. He isn't one to put his mouth on everything, which is something I love, but if my finger is around, he will try to get it in his mouth to gnaw on it. Jeremy's knee is another thing he finds enjoyable. Although it tickles Jeremy so he laughs, we'd both rather L not bite us.
